So it's a new year, I know everyone says this but where did 2014 go? as if it's a new year already. This year like everyone else no doubt I have made a resolutions to lose weight, tone up and get healthy, I usually say this but never follow it through but this year I feel different, this year I'm going to do it!  To help me along the way I thought that I would hunt for some advice on what I do to keep me on track, and thought that I would share this with you all, as you may find it useful and may help to keep your on track to achieving your goals this year as well.

Firstly I'm going to mention 10 tips on eating well, as this is a good place to start.

1. Eat more nuts and seeds.

2. Eat less butter and cream and switch too liver oil.

3.  Eat lots of chicken. It's an essential amino acid that encourages the brain to produce serotonin (happiness hormone)

4. If you want something, have it. Just eat less of it.

5. Try not to eat red meat more than three times a week.

6. Don't ever skip meals. If your body goes along time without food your blood sugars will drop which will increase your desire for sweet foods.

7. Eat four times more vegetables and salad to protein or carbohydrates.

8. If you eat what feels good and nourishing, it will make you feel fulfilled and less likely to finish off with a chocolate brownie.

9. Eat real food and restrict processed/fake/junk food. (real food is anything that can be picked, gathered, milked, hunted or fished)

10. Never eat a meal that is larger than you can hold in your two cupped hands.

As you can see they are simple tips, which can make a real difference without you having to make loads of sacrifices. The next thing to do is work on your fitness, you don't have to go over the top and attend the gym every day to get fit just doing a few simple exercises every other day will help you start to maintain that desired body shape. You can do some simple exercises at home which will help to keep you motivated, such as alternate lunges, squats into jumping jacks, press ups, crunches, leg up crunches and planks. Or why not take a walk to your local park and do some bench dip and bench presses, side shuffles, side leaps and abdominal holds followed by a nice jog.

To help me along I have signed up to Results with Lucy as I feel that will encourage me to stick to it and I would personally love to get a figure like hers so I'm hoping if I follow her fitness and diets plans it may help to me achieve that goal. This isn't something that I am saying you have to do, it's each to there own and only you know what will help and encourage you! I wish you all the best and hope you achieve your goals.

I'd just like to take this time to say Happy New Year and that I hope you have a good one and I hope you have enjoyed this post and it's given you some idea's to get your healthy new year kick started!
P.S. I'd love to know what new years resolutions you have made this year?
